The Morrison Family

Ranching Is Not What They Do.
It's Who They Are.

The Morrison family began ranching in Southern California in the late 1800s. As Los Angeles expanded through the 1950s and '60s, it encroached on their land — but never on their way of life. In 1978, they relocated to Camatta Ranch on the Central Coast, carrying with them four generations of knowledge, cattle, and conviction.

Today, Mark and Felicia Morrison operate the ranch alongside their children — Haustin, Garrett, Emilee, and Tanna — tending 250+ exotic animals, running a working cattle operation, and welcoming guests into a world that moves at the pace of the land.

Our Full Story

Preservation
"There are two different kinds of people. There are takers, and there are caretakers. And the Morrison family, we're caretakers."

— Felicia Morrison

On April 19, the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County entered into a conservation easement on all 27,500 acres of Camatta Ranch — an area close to the size of San Francisco — protecting it from development in perpetuity.
